The Serbian women’s national volleyball team, were guests of President Aleksandar Vucic of the Republic of Serbia last week in honor of their victory at the most recent iteration of the prestigious tournament, who have won the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship for the past two years in a row.
The women’s national team of Serbia has been honored for their remarkable performance at the last two World Championships, which they have won in succession.
After claiming gold at the World Championship for the second year in a row with a 3-0 victory against Brazil in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, Serbia participated in the next competition.
President of the Republic of Serbia is the Host
A national team jersey signed by all of the players and members of the coaching staff was given to the President of Serbia by Tijana Bokovi, the captain and opposite hitter for the Serbian volleyball team. Bokovi was also named the Most Valuable Player at each of the previous two FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championships. Bokovi also won the award for Most Valuable Player in both of those tournaments.
In addition, National Olympic Committee of Serbia Bozidar Maljkovi, Volleyball Federation of Serbia Zoran Gaji, Volleyball Federation of Serbia Secretary General Ivan Kneevi, Volleyball Federation of Serbia First Vice-President Gyula Mester, and Volleyball Federation of Serbia Vice-President Petar Bogunovi were present.
